Federal and Alaska State laws and requirements exist in the United States for all public drinking water and public water systems, such as Victoria Estates’ Public Water System (VEPWS). The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) is the principal federal law governing public water systems. The SDWA authorizes the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to create and enforce regulations to deliver safe drinking water to all residents.
